Gekko's ouevre includes a substantial number of prints relating to the wars Japan was involved in during his lifetime. Most relate to the Sino-Japanese war of 1894-1895 but there is at least one print relating to the Russo-Japanese war of 1904-1905. Gekko produced one quadruptych for the Sino-Japanese war, this is included in the triptych section. A number of lithographs of the Sino-Japanese War can be found in the lithograph section of this website.

A number of his pupils also produced war prints notably Ôkura Kôtô whose signature is sometimes mistaken for Gekko's.
